Overview

The Diploma in Tourism and Hospitality Management expose students to global tourism and hospitality practices; while providing them with a good understanding of recent trends and ethical issues that exist in the dynamic and fast-paced tourism industry. The programme combines with theoretical and practical training including essential leadership, management and professional training, necessary to gain entry-level management positions. All the essential knowledge and skills are embedded throughout the course.

Ms. See Kai Xuan

A bachelor’s degree graduate from University of Nevada, Las Vegas in Hospitality Management, Ms. Kai Xuan has over 12 years of experience in Restaurant Service, Catering and Events Management Services. Started her career in local restaurant chains such as Brewerkz, Brotzeit and Fish & Co., she has since progressed into hospitality and F&B training and education. Currently an ACTA-certified Adult Educator, she is actively involved in developing and facilitating programmes in the WSQ framework as well as conducting lectures with various Singapore private institutions locally and regionally.

Dr. N L Balasudarsun

Dr. N L Balasudarsun holds MBA, MSc and PhD in Business and E-Commerce. He has a passion towards teaching and sharing knowledge. He completed FDP in Management from IIM-Indore, Certificate in Teaching Course from Stamford College, Malaysia, and Pedagogy in Management education at IIM-Kozhikode. He has six years of industry experience and 17 years of academic experience in teaching business schools in Malaysia, Singapore, Uzbekistan and India. He has visited several leading universities for academic exposure and collaboration. His research interest areas are Marketing, Consumer. Behaviour and Nero Marketing. He has published in leading journals and presented research papers in various conferences.

The Industrial Attachment is an integral module of the programme. However, suppose a student is unable to participate in the Industrial Attachment module due to circumstances beyond the control of the Student or the College, like non-approval of the Training Work Permit by the Ministry of Manpower or unable to secure an intern placement due to unavailability of vacancies, the Student will be required to complete a Research-Based Project with the submission of a report to be considered for graduation for the course. While AAC will make its best efforts to secure Industrial Attachment for the students, it does not guarantee that it will be able to secure one for every student.
