Health, Safety, and Wellbeing Policy Statement

At Academies Australasia College (AAC), we are committed to providing a safe, healthy, and supportive environment for all students, staff, and visitors. Our Health, Safety, and Wellbeing Policy reflects our responsibility to ensure that the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of all members of the AAC community is prioritized, safeguarded, and actively promoted.

Objectives:

-
To ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety laws and regulations, including the Workplace Safety and Health Act, Ministry of Manpower (MOM) guidelines, and other applicable legislation.
-
To provide a safe learning and working environment that minimizes risks, hazards, and accidents.
-
To foster an environment where students and staff feel physically and psychologically safe, respected, and valued.
-
To promote health and well-being through support services, wellness programs, and mental health initiatives.
-
To ensure effective emergency preparedness, including clear protocols for handling accidents, emergencies, and critical incidents.
-
To engage all stakeholders in maintaining and improving health and safety standards through continuous communication, education, and training.

Key Principles:

-
Risk Management: We will identify, assess, and manage risks to prevent accidents or injuries. Regular inspections, hazard assessments, and reviews will be conducted to maintain a safe environment.
-
Physical Safety: We will provide safe facilities, equipment, and resources that meet safety standards. This includes maintaining clean and well-organized classrooms, common areas, and amenities.
-
Mental Wellbeing: We are committed to promoting mental health by providing support services, such as counselling, stress management workshops, and a safe space for students and staff to discuss well-being concerns.
-
Emergency Response: AAC will ensure that all members of the community are aware of emergency procedures and that they are properly trained to respond to emergencies effectively and promptly.
-
Education and Training: Ongoing education and training programs will be offered to staff and students to enhance awareness of health, safety, and wellbeing issues, and ensure a proactive and informed approach.
-
Reporting and Accountability: AAC encourages a culture of reporting and transparency. Students and staff are encouraged to report any hazards, incidents, or concerns without fear of reprisal. Regular reviews and audits will be conducted to track and improve safety measures.

Commitment to Continuous Improvement:

AAC strives for continuous improvement in health, safety, and well-being. We are committed to regularly reviewing and updating this policy to ensure that it remains relevant, effective, and aligned with best practices.
This policy applies to all staff, students, contractors, and visitors at AAC, and it is the collective responsibility of every member of the AAC community to uphold these principles.
